Rwanda Rise is a non-profit organization founded in 1996 by Emmanuel Sitaki, a survivor of the 1994 Genocide Against the Tutsi. After experiencing the devastating loss of family and community during the genocide, Sitaki was deeply moved to help rebuild lives in post-conflict Rwanda. He began by supporting orphans and widows who had been left vulnerable, providing them with shelter, care, and hope for a better future. What started as a small effort to respond to immediate humanitarian needs gradually grew into a structured organization focused on long-term empowerment. Over time, Rwanda Rise expanded its mission to include vocational training and education, equipping young people with practical skills that enable them to become self-reliant and contribute positively to their communities.
